SVIA Spring Seminar Has Been Canceled

Please be advised that the Stable Value Investment Association (SVIA) must cancel the March 29-31 Spring Seminar at Rancho Mirage.

As the result of developments surrounding the spread of coronavirus, such as those listed below, many of our member companies have enacted travel restrictions that will prevent nearly half of our Spring Seminar attendees and speakers from travelling to Rancho Mirage.

  • February 28, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the highest level of alert with respect to the spread and impact of coronavirus.
  • March 3, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) changed the virus threat to “an emerging, rapidly evolving situation,” and summarized the U.S. Government’s evolving policies and guidance.
  • March 4, Governor Gavin Newsom declares a State of Emergency in California.
  • March 5, the head of the WHO urged international states of emergencies. According to Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director general of the WHO, “This is not a drill. This is not a time for excuses. This is a time for pulling out all the stops.”

Should you have any questions, please call (202-580-7620) or email.  Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the Association as we all cope with coronavirus and all its impacts.

Kind regards,

Gina Mitchell, President, SVIA
